Abstract : An average investor needs to understand the behavior of the investment in which he wants to invest his investable surplus. It has become a passion for investors that invest their money in capital market instruments. At this juncture, it is necessary to study how to select the index to invest the money. Hence, a study on the behavior of the capital market with special reference to the NIFTY index.
