Consumer Socialization Research: a systematic literature review and directions for future research

Abstract : Consumer socialization constitutes a substantial chunk of consumer behavior literature. While this research area has five decades of rich literature, it lacks a consolidated overview of the current status, advancement, and potential gaps for future research. In line with this research need, we address this gap by evaluating the consumer socialization literature to date using a systematic literature review methodology (i.e., bibliometric and structured review). Furthermore, we provide the antecedents and consequences framework of consumer socialization and offer directions for future research.
