Abstract : India's economic liberalization began in July 1991, with export promotion as a key agenda. The government aimed
to make the country internationally competitive by promoting economic and structural reforms. This liberalization opened
industrial sectors to large multinational companies, but also presented challenges and opportunities for small-scale
industries. This paper examines the effectiveness of export promotion schemes and other policy measures on the
performance of small-scale industries.
